Business Excellence Award
On November 14th, 2013, Webtech Wireless won the 2013 Business Innovation award at the 14th Annual Burnaby Business Excellence Awards ceremony. In particular, the business innovation that BBEA acknowledged was our Webtech 511 solution, the first government app that provides detailed information about snow plow route completion, traffic congestion, parking restrictions, while integrating with other established systems including emergency situation alerts and social media. The Webtech 511 solution works on phones and tablets that operate on the iPhone and Android platforms, the two most popular smartphone types.
Burnaby, BC is home to a large percentage of the region’s thriving high tech sector. With 27 businesses announced as finalists in one or more award categories, we were among the companies recognized for “outstanding business success over many years and having had a positive and significant impact on the community”.
Webtech Wireless was invited to submit an application for the awards and was a finalist in two categories:
Business Innovation: For ingenuity and innovation in product design, marketing, science, technology, productivity, commercialization, business planning, and employee training.
Business of the Year: For a Burnaby business that has made an outstanding contribution in the combined areas of business success, innovation and community service.
Adoption of Technology Award
On June 14, 2012, Webtech Wireless won the BCTIA (British Columbia Technology Industry Association) Impact Award in the category, Adoption of Technology.
The technology is our Quadrant solution, and the adoption was implemented by Troyer Ventures, an oil and gas service provider in northeastern BC.
BCTIA acknowledges BC-based companies that adopted BC-based technology and realize significant improvements in productivity, competitiveness, or profitability.
As part of its integrated technology solution, Troyer Ventures chose Webtech Wireless, because Troyer found our Quadrant solution the most complete package for its vehicle tracking, Hours of Service (HOS), and in-cab communication needs.
“With the level of minute-by-minute information we’re getting, Quadrant is the best thing going.”
