WebTech Wireless NextBus Real-time Passenger Information Service Officially Launched in Laval, Quebec

Vancouver, British Columbia – February 8, 2010 – WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, announces that the Société de Transport de Laval (STL), officially launched its real-time passenger information service on February 4th, under the name STL Synchro. The launch, which includes the installation of 80 NextBus© electronic display bus stop signs, is the largest such deployment in Canada.

Electronic bus stop signs are one of the more prominent elements of the NextBus© system (branded under STL Synchro) and not only directly serve transit users, but also help promote the convenience of the system to potential users and the larger community. They have been installed at the system’s busiest stops to display up-to-the-minute bus arrival and schedule information that helps transit users save time and improve convenience and safety. In addition to the signs, bus arrival information for all 2,580 STL bus stops can be accessed via Smartphones and the internet, including the ability to sign-up for automatic alerts and updates.

Commenting on the Laval launch, Owen Moore, COO of WebTech Wireless said, “The STL Synchro project is an excellent example of how NextBus© can be rolled out to the public in a very short period of time. We’d like to thank the Société de Transport de Laval for their confidence in our product and people, their work on selection and installation, and their vision for enhancing the rider experience. Of the many possible investments a transit agency can make in its operations, few yield such visible and immediate benefits to transit users as NextBus©.”

Scott Edmonds, President and CEO at WebTech Wireless said, “NextBus© is an integral part of WebTech Wireless’ Telematics for the Planet™ initiatives and the fact that cities like Laval are moving quickly to adopt our technology validates that they see it as an effective way to improve and increase transit usage, reduce traffic congestion and meet the goals of reducing CO2 emissions and pollution in our cities.”

This launch of NextBus© provides further evidence of WebTech Wireless’ ability to successfully align technology solutions to public policy goals.
