WebTech Wireless Appoints Peter W. Roberts, FCA, CPA (Illinois), ICD.D to Board of Directors

Roberts, former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia (“ICABC”) and former CFO of Sierra Wireless Inc. (TSX: SEW, NASD: SWIR), to the Board of Directors of the Company.
“Mr. Roberts, who has spent the majority of his career in private industry after ten years in public practice with Touche Ross & Co., brings a rare mix of compliance and governance experience, and business acumen to WebTech Wireless’ Board of Directors,” said Glen Brownlee, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “I have known and worked with Mr. Roberts for many years and know that his extensive experience in the technology market will be invaluable to our board and committee meetings as we plot the future of this fast growing Telematics leader.”

Mr. Roberts has worked in public accounting in Canada, the US and the UK, and for the past 25 years he has worked at a number of public and private corporations in various executive financial roles. In 2004, he retired as Chief Financial Officer of Sierra Wireless Inc., a company which he joined in 1999 and guided through its IPO and multiple financings. Mr. Roberts is a Director of the CICA’s Risk Management and Governance Board, and recently completed his term as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC. He is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Cardiome Pharma Corp, and Bradmer Pharmaceuticals Inc, and he serves as Chair of their respective Audit Committees.
