Las Vegas , NV - April 5, 2006 - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX-V: WEW), a leading supplier of mobile telematics, has been awarded the runner up prize in the "Taking Care of Business - Private Sector" category of the Wireless Innovation Contest 2006 (WIC '06). WebTech's Locator device selected from entries actross the United States and Canada, demonstrates a "real world" wireless innovation that impacts our lives - enabling the recovery of stolem VW Golf and Parati vehicles in Brazil.

WebTech Wireless' GPS/GPRS Telematics device marks the world's first installation of such a device on the assembly line at a car manufacturer: Volkswagen Brazil. Theft and the lack of recovery of VW Golf and Parati vehicles is so pervasive in Brazil that insurance costs have risen dramatically. The car manufacturer and insurance companies have felt the negative impact as fewer consumers purchase VW cars.

Tests of the WebTech solution, offered in partnership with Crown Telecom, have resulted in a 100% recovery rate. This translates into a business case where VW and the national insurance companies pay for the installation of the Locator device and the first year of location tracking services, as well as provide the car owner with a 40% discount on their car insurance: a savings of US$2,500 per year.
