March 3, 2006 - WebTech Expands to a New Manufacturing Facility to Meet Growing Demand for its Products and Services
Burnaby, BC - March 3, 2006 - WebTech Wireless (TSX-V:WEW), a leading fleet Telematics products and services provider, announced today that it has successfully transitioned its manufacturing, repair and warehousing operations to an expanded facility in Vancouver BC. The planned expansion of WebTech Wireless' manufacturing capabilities was essential to meet the growing demand for new and existing customer rollouts in North American and International markets, recent contracts with Volkswagen in Brazil, Trimac in Canada and the expansion of distributors in Europe and the Middle East. The new facility includes increased capability for complete order fulfillment, including: product assembly, automated testing, product repair, warehousing and shipping and receiving. The expansion will provide improved fulfillment and support services for all of WebTech's Locator products, as well as ancillary Mobile Data Terminals and peripheral products that are part of WebTech's Quadrant Fleet Management service. An expanded automated test facility includes enhanced capabilities for activation and quality assurance testing of fully assembled units; a requirement for all WebTech Locators manufactured by WebTech Wireless.
"We were able to execute an extremely smooth transition to the new facility without causing any manufacturing or shipping disruptions" comments Richard Freeman, Director of Operations for WebTech Wireless. "With this plant, we are now able to meet out forecasted growth for the next year, and further expansion at the new facility allows us to meet demand for the foreseeable future. We have already shipped several thousand units from the new facility."
