(TSX: WEW), a leading provider of location-based and fleet Telematics services, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted the company’s request for the re-examination of the Lunar Eye patent which is the subject of a patent infringement suit filed by Lunar Eye against WebTech Wireless in May 2007.

In granting the re-examination request, the USPTO agreed that the information provided by WebTech Wireless in it’s re-examination request raised “substantial new questions of patentability”.

“We are extremely pleased with this news from the USPTO, as we strongly believe that this lawsuit and the patent in question are without merit,” comments Scott Edmonds, Chief Financial Officer, WebTech Wireless. “In the meantime we are continuing to prepare for the trial set in November 2008.”
